I've liked the Oatmeal for years. I have a few of my favorite ones as prints I purchased hanging on the walls in my office. So despite not liking cats (or maybe BECAUSE of that) I figured this would be a fun calendar to have.Doesn't disappoint. I like the layout and the room to write things on the days if needed. I now have this next to a whiteboard on my wall, so I can make notes I can see easily from my desk when trying to plan things out the next few weeks and not wanting to change views in Outlook to see my calendar there. As much as I'm into the electronics to track everything, I still like seeing the overview easily, and this allows me to do that, with some cute Oatmeal artwork to boot...
If you are familiar with the work of Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal), then you are already familiar with his style of art and his sense of humor. If not, be prepared for a quirky look at the way humans and cats interact. This collects work that has been available on his website (although I can't rule out new works for this calendar). Anyone who is owned by a cat will recognize at least some of these behaviors.Enjoy!
I've enjoyed The Oatmeal's comics for many years. This calendar collects eleven cat-themed Oatmeal comics (and one non-cat comic which was a bit of a surprise given the title) in a 12-month calendar. Unlike some wall calendars, each date space has plenty of white space for writing in events and appointments. Holidays from many English-speaking countries around the world are noted in small type, including Jewish holidays.Between June and July is a two-page comic (which you could pull out later) about how cats view your bed and is, as usual, right on target. This would be great for most any cat lover, including yourself!
I've never heard of or seen any of the cartoons in this calendar before, but who can resist a cute cat calendar? The drawings are cute and some are definitely funny - especially if you live with a Siamese cat who thinks he rules the planet. There's room for writing small notes on the pages, but the poster on sharing the bed with your cat is what makes this calendar worth purchasing.
